Killin Highland Lodges offer a centrally located, comfortable, well equipped base for touring Scotland, close to the first Scottish national park. Their log cabin style holiday cottages are situated on peaceful wooded hillside, amidst stunning highland scenery on the south side of Loch Tay.
- The website was written to WC3 xHTML 1.0(external link) and CSS(external link) standards, with some light ASP code used to make site maintenance easier.
- The contact page includes the Google Maps API(external link)providing the visitor with an interactive satellite-photography view with road-map overlay. Entering a postcode will provide written and visual driving instructions.
- Javascript form validation is used when submitting forms, detecting and highlighting the ommision of a required contact detail or booking date.
- The Gallery page uses Flash to generate thumbnails and provide transition effects when opening and switching between large images.
- To avoid additional spam, contact email addresses don't appear on the website. Instead users enter their enquiries on a single page, one button form which are emailed to the site owner who simply responds to the email address provided (similar to the contact form on my own contact page). From this point, both parties correspond as normal.
