Disable "Send Feedback" links in Windows 7
Posted by webmaster on 2009-02-07 22:28:16 in WindowsI've installed the Windows 7 Beta on my Asus X59GL and have foudn the need to tweak a couple of the GUI's default settings.
The most annoying "feature" I've found so far is the "Send Feedback" link at the top of every window (see below).
To remove this, follow the simple steps below:
- Open up RegEdit (Hold the Windows logo key and press the R key simultaneously, type regedit in the box that appears and hit OK).
- Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
- Find the entry FeedbackToolEnabled. If it doesn't exist, go to Edit > New > DWORD (32-biit) Value and create it.
- Give it a new value of 0.
- Exit the Registry Editor.
- Log of and log back on.
Now you'll see that the links have gone. Enjoy!
