Low image quality when using 3G modem
Posted by webmaster on 2008-07-16 19:34:16 in Internet and EmailÂ
I've been using my T-Mobile MDA Vario II & Vario III (HTC Hermes / TyTn / Kaiser / TyTn II) on the 3G Web 'n' Walk service for some time now. One thing that is instantly noticeable is the low quality of images.
This can be overcome by pressing Ctrl + F5 to refresh the page, or Shift and A to reload all the images on the page. As this needs to be done for each page hardly an ideal solution, but a solution is available, as i discovered on this website.
Firefox:
- Download the 'Modify Headers' add-on.
- Once installed, restart Firefox.
- Click Tools -> Modify Headers.
- Select "Add" from the drop-down at the top-left. Enter Pragma in the first box and no-cache in the second, then click Add.
- Select "Add" from the drop-down at the top-left. Enter Cache-Control in the first box and no-transform in the second, then click Add.
- Click the "Configuration" button at the bottom right, tick the box marked "Always on: Enable Modify Headers when the windows/tab is closed"
- You're done! Make sure the two rules you've added are enabled (shown by a green dot) and close the window.
Internet Explorer:
Sadly IE doesn't have an equivalent plugin, so i guess the only solution is to download Firefox - if you havent already, give it a shot, i promise you'll like it.
